Nobody Needs Poets
With their cryptic
but meaningful thoughts
wrapped in vivid words
offering keen observations
about people, life and all
the other intricacies
being overlooked daily
by everyone else ….
No one ever sees poets
painfully alone
late at night
bleeding out
their emotions
one syllable at a time
as they stare down the blank
screens of a digital world
just to be able to breathe …
Not a single person ever
needs a poet …until they do.
