whispers

the city whispers
it teems with sweat, dreams, and love
threads weave, they tangle

the night croaks, stars honk
i set the sky alight, and
it whispers thank you

a pigeon hobbles
wing shattered, fated to die
its screams are whispers

counselor lectures:
whispering is pointless, shout
they must all be deaf

they were not Whispers
and Even if they had been,
you’d Better Listen.
